13/05 - Under 10`s Exeter Friendly League Cup Final

Tiverton Town 0 v 1 Crediton Saints

It turned out to be a bad day for a cup final with the conditions not allowing a normal game of football and the pitch being severely waterlogged it turned out to be a lottery.  Although Tivvy went 1 – 0 down early on it did not at all reflect the game with the yellows having the majority of the possession throughout and Ryan Clarke having very little to do between the sticks.  Tivvy were always pushing for the equaliser but the Crediton goal keeper was on fine form and the conditions stopped them all the way. Whilst Tivvy outplayed the Crediton side the goal needed was frustratingly not achieved.

All the players deserve credit for reaching the final and should feel proud of themselves for finishing comfortable winners in the unofficial table with games played in such a strong league.

Did Crediton Saints beat Tiverton today or the weather and bad pitch conditions? Well the pictures tell the story of a game better suited to a swimming pool.

28/04 - Under 10`s Exeter Friendly League

Tiverton Town 0 v 0 West Exe R

Tiverton dominated play from start to finish but didn’t seem to get the ball down and play it in the oppositions half enough to create clear cut chances to score, although Rangers didn’t cause too many problems for Tivvy’s defence the Westexe keeper had to be on his toes at all times as Tivvy were pushing for the win but that wasn’t to be and finished 0-0.

Tiverton Town 4 v 0 West Exe A

It was looking pretty much like the first game for the first 10 minutes until Jack Rainey scored the important 1st goal to send Tivvy on their way. Again from good movement from Tivvy Scott Townsend managed to tap home a loose ball for Tivvy’s second, Tivvy were in a commanding position, and went on to win 4 – 0 with Callum Hutchings getting forward to score a brace and to give credit to Athletic who kept battling to the end forcing stand in keeper Euan Howells to make a couple of cracking saves. A good performance from Mason Chapman putting in some important tackles and Man of the match Euan Howells.

14/04 - Under 10`s Exeter Friendly League

Tiverton Town 5 v 0 Beacon Knights

Tivvy Town continued in their winning ways against Beacon Knights who didn’t cause Tivvy too many problems at all and ran out convincing 5 – 0 winners, it could have been a lot more if it wasn’t for Beacon Knights keeper putting in a fine display. Goals coming from Callum Hutchings, Scott McMillan, Thomas Parkins and Scott Townsend (2).

Tiverton Town 2 v 0 Moors Youth

In the second game of the day Tivvy were up against Moors Youth and although Tivvy were having most of the possession the yellows could not turn that into goals, with the pitch playing a big part for both sides it was by far not going to be Tivvy`s best performance. Scott Townsend broke the deadlock to put Tivvy 1 up at half time and in the second half it was pretty much the same with Tivvy trying to force the play they managed to reap the benefits when Jack Rainey scored the second to finish off the game. It was a good all round battle with plenty of effort from Ryan Clarke, Callum Hutchings, Euan Howells, Scott McMillan, Jack Rainey, Jack Dickson, Scott Townsend, Mason Chapman and Man of the Match Thomas Parkins.

31/03 - Under 10`s Exeter Friendly League Cup Semi Final

Tiverton Town 2 v 0 West Exe

Tivvy had to work hard from the off against the wind and couldn’t quite get into their usual rhythm of play. As the first half progressed Tivvy grew the stronger forcing the play to get in front from a well struck free kick from Scott Townsend coming back off the bar leaving Callum Hutchings to head in to put Tivvy 1 up at half time. In the 2nd half Tivvy were forcing the play but still had to be on their toes and stood strong in all positions in a very competitive game. Tivvy attacked on a regular basis and were awarded a penalty for a blatant hand ball, Jack Rainey was quick to step up and fired the ball into the back of the net to win the game 2 – 0, the reward goes out to all the team Ryan Clarke, Callum Hutchings, Thomas Parkins, Jack Rainey, Matthew Watts, Euan Howells, Scott Townsend, Mason Chapman and Man of the match Scott McMillan for a well deserved win to send Tivvy into the final at St James Park on the 13th May.

17/03 - Under 10`s Exeter Friendly League Cup Quarter Final

St Martins 0 v 2 Tiverton Town

Away from home Tivvy Under 10’s traveled to St Martins for the quarter finals of the cup and showed great strength and character and produced a great display of football dominating play from the off taking the game to St Martins at every opportunity. On the attack again Hutchings managed to get forward to unleash an effort that came back out to Jack Rainey who shot only for the St Martins goal keeper to save, after the first effort the ball again broke loose and Rainey pounced first to make sure this time to put Tivvy 1 nil up at the break. Second half Tivvy started where they left off and it wasn’t long before the yellows were on the attack again getting forward in numbers and their persistence soon paid off with the ball falling nicely to Scott Townsend to slot home Tivvy’s second. Tivvy pushing all the time and working hard in all positions forced another corner which was an inviting ball in to glance of the heel of Hutchings into the back of the net for Tivvy`s fifth. Exmouth created a few chances of their own but will little avail Tivvy were equally as good defensively with Mason Chapman, Euan Howells and Callum Hutchings all playing well and Ryan Clarke pulling off some cracking saves and with commanding displays in midfield from the rock Thomas Parkins and the midfield maestro Scott McMillan.

Match v Exmouth Town Blues

Tivvy again started brightly with some good football and were again first to break the deadlock with Jack Rainey putting the yellows 1 up. Another good move gave Scott Townsend the chance to finish to make it 2 – 0. It wasn’t all one way and Exmouth got a goal back and always looked in the game until a good move involving Matthew Watts, Scott McMillan and Jack Dickson shifting the ball leaving Jack Rainey to break through to score the third to win the game 3 – 1. With Callum Hutchings and Euan Howells keeping it solid at the back at all times when called upon, it was Tivvy chasing the ball down from the front winning the first and second ball to break forward and get a through ball to Rainey to hold the ball up and lay in Matthew Watts to fire in Tivvy’s second to kill the game off for Tivvy to win 2-0, rounding off an excellent second half from Scott McMillan, Scott Townsend, Callum Hutchings, Euan Howells, Matthew Watts, Jack Dickson, Mason Chapman, Ryan Clarke and a Man of the Match performance from Jack Rainey.

27/01 - Under 10`s Exeter Friendly League

Central Reds 0 v 1 Tiverton Town

Tivvy were made to work hard in this game and gave away possession too easy at times, but on a more positive note Tivvy kept battling away and got a goal to go 1 – 0 up through Thomas Parkins. Having missed a few chances and hitting the wood work twice the yellows kept going right to the end but it wasn’t all one way with Tivvys keeper Ryan Clarke having to be on his toes to make some commanding saves with the game finishing 1 – 0.

09/09/06 - Under 10`s off to a winning start

Heavitree Harriers 0 v 4 Tiverton Town

Heavitree Falcons 0 v 8 Tiverton Town

Heavitree Harriers

Harriers were a big side to break down at times, but with plenty of effort Tivvy got the ball down and played some good football and ran out comfortable 4 v 0 winners. With Hutchings scoring a long range free kick to get us on our way and McMillan wrapping the game up with a well earned hatrick. Good passing football from the rest of the team was the difference between the two sides.

Heavitree Falcons

Tivvy started where they left off in the last game and in a very confident mood. Tivvy's passing and movement was excellent and the goals soon came which turned out to be a rout. Falcons did force Tivvy once but the impressive Ryan Clarke pulled off an outstanding double save to keep another clean sheet to win 8 v 0. It was an impressive squad performance with Jack Rainey, Eaun Howells, Callum Hutchings, Thomas Parkins, Jack Dickson, Mason Chapman, Ryan Clarke, Matthew Watts and Scott Townsend all playing well. However Scott McMillan took the accolade of player of the day.
