29/04 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Exmouth Juniors 0 v 20 Tiverton Town
Tiverton Town knew a win at Exmouth today would clinch the league title which spurred the boys on to an outstanding display. Exmouth showed great tenacity in the first five minutes trying to take the game to Tivvy. However the yellows were in the mood to play football today and were absolutely on fire. Exmouth offered the odd break on goal normally through their impressive number 8, but the defence and Captain Stephen Bucknell in goal mopped up any attacks. The strikers showed no mercy in this match and impressively nearly every shot on goal either worked the Exmouth goalkeeper or hit the back of the net. Goal scorers George Chamberlin (6), Jack McGovern (5), Ollie Main (4) Daniel Nation (3) and Zak Morgan (2). An impressive performance from the team, but George Chamberlin with his master class in finishing and Drew Laskey for a solid display at the back claimed men of the match. Tiverton now uncatchable at the top with three games remaining left Exmouth with the league title safely in the bag.
22/04 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Seaton Town 0 v 11 Tiverton Town
Tiverton Town under 11`s bounced back from their disappointment last week with a comprehensive win over Seaton Town. It was pretty much one way traffic with the Seaton Goalkeeper being the busiest player on the pitch for the whole game. Seaton did offer the odd break on goal, but the defence lead by captain Sam Nutt kept things tight. Goalscorers were Ollie Main (4), Josh Kallaway (2), Daniel Nation (2), Lewis White (2) and Drew Laskey. Playing well were Jason Allington, Jack Cottrell and Harry Webber, but Kallaway claimed man of the match for an excellent performance in midfield.
15/04 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Exmouth Amateurs 5 v 1 Tiverton Town
Tivvy lost their unbeaten record in the East Devon League at the weekend. A poor team performance in the first half left Tivvy with a 4 v 0 deficit going in to the half time break. Although creating lots of chances the yellows strikers could not convert and Exmouth scored with four long balls over the top of the defence. Tiverton were definitely the better side in the second half dominating large periods of play. Again lots of chances were created, but none of the strikers seemed to have brought their scoring boots today. Drew Laskey finally found the net with a well struck goal from outside the area to give Tiverton some hope, but Exmouth soon replied with another knock over the top of the defence on the break to slot home. Although with lots of possession, Tiverton were unable to turn this in to goals. Playing well were Daniel Nation, Josh Kallaway and Harry Howard, but claiming man of the match was Drew Laskey.
01/04 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Honiton Town 0 v 2 Tiverton Town
Tivvy played in a frustrating match against a strong Honiton Town team who proved very difficult to break down. Although playing the majority of the game in Honiton's half, tough tackling and a well organised defensive line up kept chances to a minimum. Tivvy kept battling and finally broke through and Jack McGovern slotted home to put Tiverton in to the lead. After half time it was more of the same with both teams midfield battling out most of the game with Honiton occasionally breaking with no end threat on goal. Frustration started to show in the Tiverton players who failed to keep to their normal passing game and resorted to hit and hope stuff. Finally as the game was coming to an end a bit of luck went Tiverton's way. A hopeful lob from George Chamberlin went goal wards and caught out the keeper to find the back of the net.
The defensive line up of Callum Burgin, George Gardiner, Harry Howard, Harry Webber and Captain Cameron O'Donnell had outstanding performances. However George Chamberlin claimed man of the match for his continual battling in Midfield. A big thanks should also go to Jason Allington for standing in as goalkeeper.
25/03 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Tiverton Town 6 v 1 Exmouth Amateurs
Tivvy Under 11`s put on a great display against Exmouth Amateurs. In the first few minutes an Exmouth player unleashed a venomous strike from about 30 yards. The shot would of either killed some wildlife or hit the back of the Tivvy net. Unfortunately for Tiverton the latter was true and the wildlife lived another day. This proved to be the only shot that Exmouth offered all game but it was a great goal. Tivvy dug in and peppered the Exmouth goal time and time again and finally the pressure told with George Chamberlin equalising for the yellows. Exmouth were now riding their luck with shot after shot being saved hitting the woodwork or being cleared off the line. Lewis White finally broke the defence to take the lead. Chamberlin then added his second with a great goal from outside the area. At 3 v1 the game started to open out more and Jack Cottrell took full advantage to blast home Tivvy`s fourth. Heroic defending from the Exmouth players kept the score line down, but Lewis White added another with an unstoppable strike from outside the area. Ollie Main was on form to knock home Tiverton's sixth and final goal. A good performance from the whole team with Ollie Main, Sam Nutt, Jason Allington and Jack McGovern playing well. However Jack Cottrell was outstanding on the day to claim man of the match
18/03 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Tiverton Town 13 v 0 Seaton Town
Tiverton Under 11`s carried on from last weeks win with a comprehensive display against Seaton Town. Although a good win for Tivvy the Seaton side were difficult to break down and caused all sorts of problems for us. It took a good 10 minutes before Tivvy settled in to the match and after a few missed chances George Chamberlin found the back of the net to give us the lead. Seaton came close to equalising when a well worked free kick ended with a shot hitting the post much to the relief of Goalkeeper Stephen Bucknell. Chamberlin again battled again up front to find himself with the goal at his mercy to coolly finish. Tivvy`s third came after great work on the right from Drew Laskey to put through Jack Cottrell. Jack unselfishly squared the ball for Jason Allington to tap home in to the empty net. A few changes at half time put fresh legs on and within moments of the second half the changes paid off. Chamberlin continued his scoring streak by bagging his hatrick. Jack McGovern made an immediate impact scoring with his first touch of the ball. Daniel Nation again came on to cut in from the left and lob the keeper for Tivvy`s 6th. McGovern got the ball in space and drilled his second of the game home. Chamberlin rounded off his impressive performance by scoring his fourth and Tivertons 8th. By now the game tended to be one way with Seaton making the odd break for goal. A positional change saw the threesome of Lewis White, McGovern and Chamberlin drop to defence (well sort of) and the defenders pushed up front. Josh Kallaway needed no invitation as he received the ball just inside the area to smash home giving the Seaton keeper no chance. Jack Cottrell worked hard on the right to create his own chance which he took to take the score to 10 v 0. Callum Burgin found himself in unfamiliar territory to control and poke home his first goal For Tiverton Town. Cameron O'Donnell was soon to join his defensive partner as he too struck home his first goal for Tivvy. Kallaway rounded off the game just before the final whistle with his second goal of the game to make the final score line of 13 v 0.
Another good team performance and playing well were Jack Cottrell, Harry Webber and Captain Drew Laskey. However showing that bit extra was Lewis White who claimed man of the match
11/03 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Colyton 0 v 10 Tiverton Town
This top of the table clash would go a long way in deciding how the league could finish up. Tivvy playing only their 2nd game since November started brightly taking the game to the Colyton side. Pressure told and Jack McGovern was through on goal only to be taken down for a penalty. McGovern picked himself up and placed the ball on the spot to smash home for the first goal of the game. Good work in midfield again played McGovern through to slot home his second a few minutes later. Ollie Main was also in scoring mood and claimed two goals for the yellows. Good battling on the left put Lewis White in for a chance which he took exquisitely with the outside of his boot to take a 5 goal advantage in to half time. Colyton looked a lot sharper in the second half, but nothing could stop the next goal. The ball bounced out to White who was just outside the area to unleash an unstoppable volley in to the bottom corner of the Colyton net, a spectacular goal at any level. George Chamberlin joined in the scoring with two well taken goals from midfield although carrying an injury. McGovern finished up his day by adding another two to his impressive performance. In the dying moments Josh Kallaway was able to slot a goal away only to be flagged offside to the amazement of everyone bar the linesman. It was great to see the boys back in action again and a good team performance. Playing particularly well were Ollie Main, George Chamberlin and Lewis White however Jack McGovern and George Gardiner shone out and claimed men of the match.
28/01 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Tiverton Town 5 v 1 Honiton Town
After 2 months without a game it was good to see Tivvy back on the pitch playing a match. Tiverton started brightly although the match started with a period of missed chances. Numerous crosses from the left went begging as our strikers seemed to be on a different wave length. Finally the pressure told and Jack McGovern broke through the Honiton defence to fire home and take the lead. The lead did not last long when a speculative punt in to the box went so high in to the air there must of been snow on it when it came back down. Goalkeeper Stephen Bucknell could only parry the ball out which fell to a Honiton player to bundle the ball across the line. In the second half the Tiverton midfield started to keep the ball better and were opening up the very strong Honiton defence. McGovern put Tiverton in to the lead with a well struck goal. Honiton kept the pressure up with good football on the break. Tivvy finally got the extra goal they needed with a battling Harry Howard setting McGovern on his way to his hatrick. Having the 2 goal cushion relaxed the players and more possession went Tivertons way. Further goals from Ollie Main and George Chamberlin put the game out of Honiton's reach.
A good game with both teams playing well on a very sticky pitch. Jack McGovern, George Gardiner and Harry Webber played well for Tivvy, but fantastic performances from Daniel Nation and Harry Howard earned them players of the match.
26/11 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Exmouth Amateurs 0 v 7 Tiverton Town
Tivvy Under 11`s played in an excellent match against a strong Exmouth side. Although the pitch did not lend itself to attractive football the players adapted well and took the game to Exmouth. As we kicked off we immediately went on the attack putting Jack McGovern through to score in under a minute. This obviously put us in a fantastic position which we were able to build on. McGovern again found himself in the box and knocked home our second. George Chamberlin was next as he worked his magic to find space and then the back of the net. Ollie Main was put through after good work on the left to claim our fourth. Our pressure continued and more goals from Daniel Nation and another from Main took the score to 6 v 0. Then an outstanding strike from McGovern from outside the area nearly broke the back of the net. However in a mysterious decision the goal was disallowed for offside to the disbelief of everyone bar the officials. Half time came and we asked the boys to sit back and hold the lead rather than push on for glory. This was done well although McGovern was able to find the net one last time to make a final score of 7 v 0 to Tivvy. Another outstanding team performance with the hard working Lewis White claiming man of the match. Also playing particularly well were Zak Morgan, Ollie Main, Harry Webber and George Gardiner.
19/11 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Tiverton Town 19 v 0 Seaton Town
The Under 11`s managed an impressive score line against Seaton at the weekend. Everything clicked in to place for the team in the match and goals flooded in for the yellows. A good first half saw Tivvy bag 6 goals with Jack McGovern claiming three, Josh Kallaway two and Oliver main one to give us a comfortable lead. Half time soon saw us add to the tally with McGovern adding a further three, Main another three, George Chamberlin scoring five from Midfield and Daniel Nation adding the final two. Goal scorers get the headlines, but this was a massive team performance from the Tivvy boys who all claimed man of the match. Playing well were, Stephen Bucknell, Harry Howard, George Gardiner, Cameron O'Donnell, Sam Nutt, Josh Kallaway, Lewis White, George Chamberlin, Jason Allington, Ollie Main, Jack McGovern, Daniel Nation, Drew Laskey and Harry Webber
16/11 - Under 11`s Friendly
Willand Rovers U12`s 2 v 4 Tiverton Town
The Under 11`s played a friendly in midweek against Willand Rovers under 12`s which gave us a chance to take all seventeen players to a game for the first time this season. We played at Willands home ground under the floodlights and the pitch was big which suited our game. Although playing a year above ourselves we did really well in the first half not giving the Willand players any time on the ball. We spoke before the game about playing through balls for our strikers to run on to and try and out race the Willand back line. The boys took these instructions on and produced exactly what we were after. Numerous chances were created using this tactic three of which Jack McGovern slotted home to give us a three goal advantage at half time with no real reply from Willand. Virtually straight from kicking off the second half another through ball for Drew Laskey who controlled and finished in style to make it four nil. As the second half went on the difference in age started to show and a combination of tiredness and numerous changes allowed Willand to start controlling the game, but the midfield and defence held firm not allowing any real threats on goal. However in the last ten minutes Tivvy gifted Willand two sloppy goals to give them hope, but it was all too late as the final whistle went. A great team performance from all seventeen players involved.
12/11 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Tiverton Town 10 v 1 Exmouth Juniors
Our friends at Exmouth Juniors gave us a good game in the East Devon League. They battled and defended well to frustrate the Tivvy side. The first half was really one way traffic but Exmouth did not allow the Tivvy strikers any chance to take advantage. Again lack of composure in front of goal kept a clean sheet for the majority of the half. It was an instinctive finish from midfielder Daniel Nation that opened the account, but again we could not turn possession in to any more goals. Just before half time Drew Laskey unleashed a thunderbolt that nestled nicely in the Exmouth net to give the cushion we required. Half time saw Tivvy make three changes and this seemed to produce the space we were lacking. More pressure started to see the Tivvy goals come with Jason Allington firing from just inside the area. Jack McGovern was soon to add to his seasons tally using his pace to outwit the defence and score. Another McGovern strike was parried by the keeper only for the man of the match Zak Morgan to fire home to make it 5 v 0. In a rare attack Exmouth were awarded a free kick. The ball was struck sweetly and whistled past Stephen Bucknell who had no chance to save. This seemed to stir the Tivvy players with McGovern replying with two quick further goals, Josh Kallaway coolly finishing from distance and then McGovern adding another two to take his tally for the season to 16. Although the result was good in the end this was not the best team performance by the under 11`s. Man of the match went to Morgan for outstanding wing play, but also playing well were Jack McGovern, Josh Kallaway and Harry Howard. A special mention to Exmouth who throughout the game played with great spirit and sportsmanship.
29/10 - Under 11`s East Devon League
Honiton Town 0 v 6 Tiverton Town
A match played in a very competitive spirit saw both some lovely football but also some niggly tackles to keep the Ref busy. Honiton drew first blood in the free kicks giving away a Penalty in the first ten minutes. Jack McGovern stepped up to blast the kick past the Honiton keeper giving him no chance. This settled Tivvy and we started to play some nice passing football although occasionally leaving the back door open for Honiton to exploit. A well worked passing move left Lewis White with loads of time to control and shoot for Tivvy's second. Another attack found the hard working McGovern with space in the box to finish for our third. Just before half time another battle down the left wing gave McGovern the chance to cross for Zak Morgan to blast home at close range. Main came on at half time to make an immediate impact and slot home his 6th goal of the campaign. Honiton started to test our defence more and more and finally broke leaving Stephen Bucknell one on one with a Honiton striker. Bucknell spared the defences blushes by pulling off a magnificent save to keep a clean sheet. The goals were going Tivvy's way, but we saved the best to last. Honiton Goalkeeper kicked from his hands and the ball went towards Daniel Nation. Nation hit the ball on the volley from around 35 yards out straight back in to the open Honiton net. If we get a better goal this season I cant wait to see it. Another spirited performance from all the players with Zak Morgan claiming man of the match. Also playing well were Harry Webber, Daniel Nation and Harry Howard.
22/10 - Under 11`s Crash out of Cup
Tiverton Town 0 v 8 Exmouth Amateurs
The Under 11`s suffered their first defeat of the season in the cup to Exmouth Amateurs. Exmouth had recruited some of their Saturday team to bolster their side for this game. Where as we had most of our defence away on holiday and it was left for midfielders to try and plug the gaps. In the first ten minutes we were on top of the game and but for missed chances we could have been two or three up. Exmouth got stronger and stronger as the game continued and kept hitting us on the break. By half time we were 4 down and we had to chase the game by going three at the back and an extra forward to get some goals. Nothing went our way with rebounds and deflections going in our net with numerous goal line clearances from the Exmouth defenders. Tivvy were displaying the far better footballing game, but we did not come to terms with the long ball and chase game that the Exmouth team adopted. It was an uphill struggle and the Exmouth defence performed well to keep our attacks fruitless. By the final whistle we had not deserved the win, but the score line did not reflect the closeness of the game. Man of the match Josh Kallaway played well in defence as did Jack Cottrell who were both playing out of position. It was still a very spirited performance with every player giving his all to the final whistle.
15/10 - Under 11`s continue unbeaten run
Colyton 0 v 13 Tiverton Town
This would be a test for our newly formed squad away to a team who have a deserved reputation as one of the best in the area. Still unbeaten in the league the Colyton side would give us a real indication as to how our team was progressing. As expected the Colyton side came out strong and were the first to ask question of our defence. Pinned back in the first ten minutes it was clear we were going to have to step up a gear. But when pinned back we proved to be at our most dangerous and a glorious ball from the midfield left McGovern with the keeper to beat. A cool McGovern rounded the keeper to slot home and bag Tivvy's first goal. Although we were one up the Colyton side were strong and the defence of Nutt, Burgin, Gardiner and O'Donnell held firm. Another counter attack left Colyton chasing the game after semi clearing the ball it fell to White who found the back of the net with a scorcher from the edge of the area. We were in the driving seat and the midfield were giving Colyton no time on the ball. Another break found McGovern wide left who found Main in the box for a thunderous finish. Just before half time Main found himself one on one with the keeper and he finished to grab his second of the game. Although 4 up we knew Colyton would come out strong in the second half. Again our midfield took the game by the scruff of the neck and did not give the Colyton players any time on the ball. We gradually had more and more possession as the game went on and we took full advantage. Again great through balls from midfield allowed McGovern to claim another three in his typical cool fashion. Then the hard working White picked the ball up 10 yards outside the area and unleashed a venomous strike that crashed the back of the Colyton net. Despite the score the Colyton players continued to work hard, but Tivvy were determined and continued their game plan. An infringement 25 yards from the Colyton goal gave Tivvy a free kick. When White placed himself behind the ball there was only going to be one outcome - his third goal of the game. Main claimed his third goal of the game beating the keeper at close range to make it 11 v 0. Then just as we thought we had seen the best goal of the game something spectacular. A cross from the left was headed away by Colyton, but only to Webber just inside the box who thumped a volley in to the top corner - a goal fit for the premiership! In the dying moment McGovern was clear again and should of had a penalty, but in the same move the defender managed to slice the ball in to his own net. I don't think the players realise how well they did today against a strong Colyton side. Everything clicked in place with the strikers finally finding the potential we know they have. Men of the match from a very very strong team performance was McGovern and O'Donnell, but also playing well were Main and White.
08/10 - Under 11`s get hard earned win
Tiverton Town 4 v 1 Exmouth Amateurs
A perfect day for football and the two teams did not disappoint. A close first half saw Tivvy have the better of the possession, but again our lack of composure in front of goal led to wasted chances. Finally in the last five minutes of the first half another flowing Tivvy attack ended with a strike from Nation in to the Exmouth goal to give the yellows the lead. This seemed to settle the Tivvy players, but the half time whistle blew and the break came at the wrong time for us. Laskey came on up front at half time and made an immediate impact by netting his fourth league goal of the season. Exmouth were beginning to look dangerous on the break, but Chamberlin netted two classy goals from midfield to give us the cushion we needed. Again the quick Exmouth forwards broke and this time one was fouled outside the box. It was a long long way from goal, but the Exmouth player struck an unstoppable shot that nestled in the top of the Tivvy net. A final score of 4 v 1 to the yellows probably was a good reflection of the game. Another great team performance with an ever improving ability to use the ball well. Yet again a great defensive performance from Bucknell in goal, Howard, Burgin, Allington and O'Donnell. However two player were outstanding on the day George Gardiner and Harry Webber who claimed men of the match.
01/10 - Under 11`s Continue to Impress
Tiverton Town 7 v 0 Honiton Town
Our first home game in the league against a strong Honiton side. For the first 10 minutes it was an even game with both sides testing each others defence, but without any real threats on goal. Tivvy started to get the better of possession and some slick passing in midfield allowed McGovern the opportunity to take the lead. The next twenty minutes of the first half went our way and two long range strikes from Allington took the pressure off the players. Kallaway and McGovern netted two more to take a five nil lead in to the break. Straight from kick off Morgan raced down the right flank to slot home the sixth goal. This seemed to stir the Honiton players as they began to get back in the game and started to ask questions of the Tivvy defence. Captain and man of the match Gardiner was solid and held firm and organised his defenders well to absorb the pressure. On the break White scored the final Tivvy goal to put the outcome of the game in no doubt. A good team performance with a few players showing they can play out of their normal position if required.
23/09 - Under 11`s record second league win
Seaton Town 0 v 6 Tiverton Town
It was a very tight first half with Tivvy taking the initiative and asking questions of the Seaton defence. Seaton defended well and the impressive goalkeeper was fully in charge of his area. It took a long range strike from Nation to open the deadlock and take Tivvy in to half time with a one nil lead. The second half saw more possession for Tiverton but again lacking the firepower to take further advantage. As the game progressed Seaton seemed to tire and the fresh legs of McGovern drived through the Seaton defence to take the second goal. Two changes then saw Kallaway and Morgan enter the field and set the game alight. Slick passing and good use of the wide pitch started to show gaps in the Seaton defence. This allowed McGovern to add one more to his tally whilst Chamberlin also added another two. Kallaway and Morgan linked together for one last time with Morgan slotting home for the final goal. An encouraging team performance with great individual displays from every position. However Callum Burgin played a solid game to earn himself player of the match.
17/09 - Under 11`s Impressive first league game win
Exmouth Juniors 0 v 11 Tiverton Town
The Under 11`s started their East Devon League campaign with an impressive win at Exmouth Juniors. The team was bright and sharp with crisp passing and movement off the ball. An impressive team performance earned the team a double figure score line which could have been more but for the gritty Exmouth performance. This will hold them in good stead for their next game which is a tricky away match at Seaton Town. Man of the match Lewis White.
Squad - Bucknell, Nutt, ODonnell, Webber, Howard, Cottrell (1), Chamberlin (3), White (1),
Allington, Laskey (3), Main (2), Nation, Morgan (1)
10/09/06 - Under 11`s win at Ladysmead
Tiverton Town 11 v 1 Ivybridge

Team Captain Zak Morgan Exchanges Pennants
Referee - Richard Rosslyn
The Under 11`s played host to Ivybridge at Ladysmead where the weather was as beautiful as the pitch. Ivybridge were kind enough to come and give our under 11`s their first taste of competitive 11 aside football. With an impressive undefeated preseason the Ivybridge players would be a good test for our boys. Three sections of 20 minutes would be played with the normal rolling subs that friendly games allow. A few minutes in to the first half the score was opened by McGovern who rounded the keeper well to tap home. Good battling in Midfield allowed our strikers to continue the scoring with a well taken 2nd goal for Tivvy by Chamberlin and McGovern adding his second and the teams 3rd. In the second 20 minutes it was a full change of players putting fresh legs on to cope with the very big pitch. Ivybridge came out a lot more determined and immediately put the Tivvy goal under pressure to pull one back. An even battle took place in midfield with both teams playing well to try and take charge of the game. Hatcher was a good outlet on the left and he powered through to take a sweetly struck goal to the keepers diving left. Another Hatcher cross found Laskey with a powerful header past the Ivybridge keeper to make it 5 v 1. Just before the end of the 2nd 20 minutes Laskey was put through again to take another well deserved goal to bring the score to 6 v 1. A change of tactics from the 11`s managers saw a first team formation of 3, 4, 3 come in to play. This seemed to suit the boys as the 3 defenders took full control of the back allowing the midfielders to play with style and confidence. Defence splitting passes from Nation to Main started the scoring again to make it 7 v 1. White was totally dominating the centre of midfield with Kallaway and Webber causing the Ivybridge defenders all sorts of problems. McGovern proved to be too strong for the Ivybridge back four and added a further three goals to his name. The Ivybridge players did not give up and continued to battle in defence. Just towards the end Tivvy broke for the last time with Main adding one more goal to make a final score of 11 v 1. It was a very enjoyable day and we would like to thank the Ivybridge players and Manager for coming to Ladysmead. Although our strikers were on form it has to be said the game was won in midfield with impressive performances from White, Kallaway, Cottrell, Hatcher and Chamberlin. However two boys were outstanding on the day Webber and Gardiner who took players of the day.

16/07/06 - Under 10`s get victory in Bristol
The Under 10`s took part in an impressive Ashton Boys Tournament in Bristol over the weekend. It was a six aside competition so the team split in two to make two evenly balanced sides. Both teams started well winning their first two group games against strong Bristol sides. The 3rd group game came and if both teams could win then they could avoid each other in any of the future knock out rounds. Unfortunately this was not the case, the yellow team won, but the red team were caught out of position to lose 2 v 0 against Ashton Villa. Although the reds were still through it meant if both teams won the quarter final stage they would meet in the semis!
Again Both sides displayed excellent passing football and clinical finishing to win. Although the yellows made hard work of their game and needed a golden goal to clinch the game. Reds made an easier game for themselves by carving out two spectacular goals for a comfortable win. Celebrations were short lived as the players realised they would now play each other for a place in the final. The game was probably the best we had seen all day with both sides playing lovely flowing football and always looking to keep possession. In the end 3 clinical finishes from the yellows booked them a place in the final.
The final took place against Ashton Villa the team who had beaten the reds in the group stages. So the Yellows were even more determined to get the result. It was another great display from the yellows who continued to pepper the Ashton goal with no real reply. It was an outstanding goalkeeping and defensive display from Ashton who took the game in to extra time and Golden Goal! Another agonising period with save after save being pulled off from Ashton. Then an exquisite through ball was poked home by the impressive Zak Morgan to win the day.
It was difficult to choose any really outstanding players from an impressive team performance. However four players were named as players of the day - Jack Cottrell, Cameron O`Donnell, George Gardiner & Zak Morgan, well done boys.
Victory for Under 10`s in London - 21/05/06
The Annual London v West Country Challenge
The boys with the team coach kindly supplied by Blakes of Devon with Shaun the Driver who looked after us for the entire trip (although his taste in music was very poor!)
The under 10`s Tiverton town youth development squad travelled to London over the weekend and played in an invite only tournament organised by our friends at Hanwell Town FC. This was the return leg from last year when they visited Tiverton. It was a real test for the boys to see how they were developing as a squad. After playing the first few games it was noticeable again that the guys from London were quicker and more physical in their game than we are used too. The boys were holding their own and their passing game proved to be the difference between the teams. Half way in to the second games the players started to adapt to the speed and show a new physical side not seen before. This started to show in the performances and the wins started to come. This change in game took the players to the top of the League and win the day.

All of the players did fantastically well and were and absolute credit to the town. This was not only in the way they played football, but also the way in which they behaved. WELL DONE BOYS from all at the Club.
It was very difficult to choose any outstanding individual performances from a great team effort. However four boys showed something a bit special on the Day. George Chamberlin, Josh Kallaway, Cameron O'Donnell and Luke Berry were all awarded players of the day medals.
