Stoke Hill 6 v 0 Tiverton Town u13s - Exeter & District League - April 2010
Tivvy went in to this game with nothing to play for with the league already won and disappointingly it showed especially throughout the first half. Tivvy not only found it hard to adapt to the small pitch but found it hard to play any football at all in which was a disappointing match and a low to an otherwise great season. The first half saw Stoke Hill dominate and with Tivvy not challenging, it was no surprise that the yellows found themselves 5-0 down at half time, having conceded goals from set pieces and allowing players to run through unchallenged with some of Tivvy’s midfield and back line not at the races. The second half saw strike partners and joint man of the match Jack Rainey and Scott McMillan play out of position and winning the midfield battle to create better scoring opportunities, these were squandered and the only goal of the half came again from Stoke Hill when it was fumbled into the goal. Full credit goes to Stoke Hill for their first half performance and hopefully the Tivvy boys will learn from this game and will understand that you can’t just turn up to a game to make up the numbers against any of the teams in Division 1.
