Tiverton U15s 4 v 1 Sidmouth - Juventus League - May 2010
We started this game with 2 players out through injury and 1 player out due to a request from another manager that he plays for on Sundays to rest him. However, we are still a very strong squad and Sidmouth never really looked like troubling us. Our first goal came after 6 mins with a lovely corner put in by Rich Edworthy for Danny Hathaway to head in! Wow, a goal from a corner! Our 2nd came after 29 mins when Jason Kennard went round 3 layers including the keeper and placed it in the back of the net. It was thoroughly deserved and we should have been 4 or 5 up by half time but the Sidmouth keeper made some good saves. 2nd half saw us score another, again from Jason Kennard after 10 mins. Sidmouth were then gifted a goal on the 75th minute. Then we mad several substitutions including Cole Batten coming and the long awaited return of Robbie Pengelly! Robbie is a great asset to the squad and it was great to see him back on the pitch after a season long injury. He could have scored within 2 minutes of coming on but unselfishly squared it back but we could not finish. In the 82nd minute we had a corner which found its way across the box where it was ferociously hit by Cole Batten from the edge of the box and beat the keeper all ends up. In the end a great win and a great finish to our 100% win record for the season. There are not many teams that win every game so credit to the boys, well done to them all.
