Sidmouth Raiders U8 1-4 Tiverton Town U8 - Exeter Youth League - March 2010

On a beautiful spring day this match started slowly. Dart scored and a Sidmouth OG relaxed Tiverton's nerves. As always Hamlin was strong in defense and Saunders was the dominating influence in the middle of the field. In the second half Tiverton missed a penalty but this seemed to energise them and both Burnand and Heale found the back of the net. Sidmouth deservedly scored off a corner.

Goals: Dart 1, Burnand 1, Heale 1, OG

Sidmouth Warriors U8 3-5 Tiverton Town U8 - Exeter Youth League, 6 March 2010

A great first half and a terrible second. Dart again scored first closely followed by Burnand. Sidmouth then headed in a beauty before the ball ended up in the neighbouring stream! This galvanised Tiverton with Saunders, Jaques and Burnand all scoring before half time. Sidmouth then scored two goals and Tiverton were looking a little ragged before some dogged defence kept them in the game.
Goals: Dart 1, Jaques 1, Burnand 2, Saunders 1

Tiverton Town U8 9 v 0 Newton Knights - Exeter Youth League January 2010

In their first game since October, Tivvy U8’s came back with all guns firing. After a slow start they came in at half time with the score at 8-0. Burnand had a hat trick (one a penalty due to a confused Knights defender), Jaques and Saunders two goals each and Heale a single goal. Tivvy made substitutions at half time and the second half was a much closer affair with Burnand's goal the only difference between the two teams.

Goals: Burnand 4, Jaques 2, Saunders 2, Heale 1

Tiverton Town U8 3 v 2 Stoke Hill - Exeter Youth League January 2010

Real end-to-end stuff before Dart scored an excellent goal to break the deadlock. Tivvy were a touch unfortunate to finish the first half at 1-1 but were worthy 3-2 victors. Pektemiz was immense in goal, ably supported in defense by Stamp and Hamlin. Saunders was rock solid in the centre of the pitch and Dart was unlucky not to score another. Heale and Burnand both took their goals well.

Man of the match: Saunders

Goals: Dart 1, Heale 1, Burnand 1

Tiverton Town U8 6 v 1 Dawlish United - Exeter Youth League October 2009

Tivvy U8’s continued their great start to the season. Coastal teams have a strong reputation but this was soon put to bed with some good passing and a Dawlish own goal. Hamlin and Flaws were strong in defense with Jones between the posts. Burnand took his goal well, Dawlish scored another own goal and Tivvy were 3-0 at half time. In the second half Tivvy kept their positions and Charlie Jaques scored a lovely hat trick, the third a cracker from outside the area.

Man of the match: Burnand

Goals: Burnand 1, Jaques 3, OG 2

Tiverton Town U8 3 v 1 St Martins - Exeter Youth League October 2009

A much tougher match and 0-0 at half time. The standout players were Dart and Saunders who covered a lot of ground in the middle of the pitch. Pektemix also played very well with Hamlin in defense. After the break Tivvy camped out in the St Martins half but the goal would not come! Finally Dart broke the deadlock after some lovely passing play by the whole team. Flaws and Burnand also scored before St Martins got a consolation goal towards the end. An exhausted but very happy team.

Man of the match: Jones

Goals: Dart 1, Flaws 1, Burnand 1

Pinhoe Trojans 0 v 3 Tiverton Town U8 - Exeter Youth League September 2009

The Tiverton town under 8’s long awaited start to the season kicked off on Saturday 19 September away to Broadclyst and Pinhoe Trojans. A line up of seven players out of twelve graced their studs on the Broadclyst turf. Pinhoe were Tivvys first opponents. From the blow of the whistle, Tivvy was on the ball and within the first minute, a side footed pass from the quick thinking Jaques to Dart on the wing gave Tivvy their first shot at goal, only to go wide by inches. Pinhoe were very strong and made some good counter attacks, but in between the sticks goalkeeper Josh Heale made some very good saves in his debut performance for Tivvy. The first half was end to end action with both keepers being tested; half time score 0-0. The second half changed, by a defensive error from Pinhoe, a long throw from Lennon stamp deflected onto a defender turning into his own goal, gave Tivvy the lead. Four minutes later, a mighty kick from the Tivvy keeper reached Jacques in the middle of the pitch , a quick turn , one defender beaten it was tucked in the corner -2-0 .As Tivvy pushed harder, the fast feet of Kaan Pektemiz passed to Stamp only to be knocked out for a throw in, but the deadly length of Stamps throw out to Jaques feet was to far to be intercepted by the gathering of players below it ,the result was another sweet right footed shot to the back of the net. Full time score 3-0 to Tivvy. All the Tivvy players put in 100 percent. Fantastic strength and team work.

Man of the match – THE TEAM. Everyone played a major part in the result

Goal scorers: Jaques 2, one own goal.

Broadclyst 0 v 11 Tiverton Town U8 - Exeter Youth League September 2009

Tivvy started against Broadclyst in the same forceful manner as they played Pinhoe. Soon the score would build, and within two minutes Dart would start the goal building for Tivvy. A curling corner deflected from their defender hit the back of the net. Jaques was quick to follow with number two, thanks to great movement and passing by Hamlyn, Pektemiz, and Stamp. Stamp was now making a strong dominant presence in the mid field area, and it was not long before Stamp made it 3-0 with a great left foot. Good defending from Hamlyn and Burridge helped to keep the ball in the oppositions half, this in turn helped Dart getting the next three goals, with great tackling and movement on and off the ball.6-0 half time. Start of the second half was a carry on from the first, but the Tivvy side had all changed the goalie was now a striker, midfield now defence, defence now midfield. With nothing left to change Tivvy still dominated the game, Heale the outfield playing goalie took four goals in space of ten minutes, the goal count up to ten and a minute to go looked like the final score, but Hamlyn made a fantastic run from inside his own half pass and dodge around three players and score with the tip of his boot sliding towards the keeper who could not get his fingers to it, a premiership players dream goal.

Not strong opposition but Tivvy played another great game.

GOAL SCORERS: Dart 4, Hamlyn 1, Stamp 1, Jaques 1, Heale 4.

Final score 11-0
