Heavitree Buzzards 0 v 5
Tivvy Town
In really difficult conditions the young yellows won
back to back games making it six wins in a row...
Tiverton were kicking into the wind against their Exeter opponents
and quickly put the game out of sight. An early Kyle Gould effort
was parried wide by the visiting keeper before Ashley Laskey shot
just wide. Further pressure followed both Laskey and Defender Zak
Hide both had efforts fire just wide and parried around the post
respectively. The opening goal eventually came when Ashley Laskey
prodded the ball home from a scramble in the visitors box. This
spurred Tiverton on and they played some lovely football passing and
moving their way to a second goal which was finished off by Mitch
Dart who drilled his shot low and hard past the despairing dive of
the Buzzards keeper. Tiverton looked dangerous on every attack and
made it 3-0 when Laskey tapped in a pull back cross for his second
of the game. Ashley Laskey nearly grabbed his hat trick in the first
half but his chip just sailed over clipping the crossbar on its way.
Tiverton could have been way out of sight at half time but Zak Hide
and Kyle Gould both went close with shots before the half time
whistle came to the visitors rescue. The second half was a lot
tighter and the visitors proved tougher to break down, chances came
for Zak Hide who drove just wide of the far post and Jordan Mitchell
just shot wide when presented with an opportunity from a corner
inside the box. Ashley Laskey grabbed his third consecutive hat
trick when he fired into the bottom corner fed through by a lovely
pass by striking partner Mitch Dart. The yellows wrapped the game up
when Zak Hide fired home a powerful shot from outside the box to
give Tiverton the dominate 5-0 score line their play deserved.

Heavitree Kestrels 3 v 4
Tivvy Town
Tiverton won their second game of the day but this
was a tough game that went all the way. Tiverton fell behind early
in the game when a corner assisted by the strong wind beat keeper
Harrison Burton and the Tiverton defence and flew straight into the
net for 1-0 to the Kestrels. Tiverton nearly got level when a
scrambled corner fell to Zak Hide who struck just over the bar.
However Tiverton were back level when Ash Laskey scrambled home an
equaliser in the box from a Kyle Gould cross...Kyle Gould was superb
in the middle covering every blade of grass defending and setting up
countless attacks for the yellows. Mitch Dart had a shot tipped over
for a corner which resulted in Tiverton taking a 2-1 lead when Kyle
Gould s driven corner found the head of Connor Roberts who headed
the ball into the roof of the net with a powerful trademark header.
The score became 3-1 minutes later when a cross was turned into his
own net by a Heavitree defender. Tiverton then allowed the Kestrels
a break away opportunity. Caught short at the back they allowed the
dangerous Heavitree no 9 to go around Tivvy keeper Burton and made
it 3-2 at half time. The second half was tight and a little scrappy
although Tiverton looked in control even thought their opponents
were testing the defence throughout Tiverton held on and closed out
the game. This helped when they went 4-2 ahead when Jordan Mitchell
slammed the ball home from close range following a cross by Kyle
Gould. The Kestrels keeper then made two great stops one from Laskey
tipping his effort onto the bar and then following that up by saving
one handed again from a Ashley Laskey shot. Tivvy did let Heavitree
grab a third from a breakaway which resulted in a tap in at the far
post but Tiverton had done enough and hung on for the victory in an
entertaining game.

Hemyock 0 v 3
Tivvy Town
Tivvy secured their win early on attacking down the
slope in the first half the ball inside fifteen seconds breaking to
Ashley Laskey who banged in the opening goal and a great start for
the yellows. Tivvy looked dangerous on every attack and the
dangerous Mitch Dart created some space out wide but just dragged
his effort wide of the far post. Ashley Laskey also fired across the
face of the Hemyock goal the second you did feel was just a matter
of time!!. It soon came Mitch Dart running onto a Kyle Gould through
pass and squeezing the ball past the keeper for 2-0 to Tiverton.
Kyle Gould the engine in the Tiverton midfield also shot wide as
Tivvy`s finishing was a little off target compared to recent
outings. The third goal did come when a Kyle Gould free kick was to
hot to handle and the opposition keeper tipped it upwards and Ashley
Laskey followed up for a simple tap in for a half time lead of 3-0
and Laskeys second of the match. Tivvy keeper Harrison Burton was a
spectator for most of the game although he produced a fantastic one
on one save when Hemyock had a rare breakaway at the start of the
second half. Kyle Gould headed just wide at the back post after a
lovely cross by Zak Hide and Defender Ryan Doble playing against his
home town club forced his way into the Hemyock box and could not
quite wrap his foot around the ball and just pulled it wide of the
far post taking a knock for his troubles. Tivvy played out the game
well in control as the conditions got worse and the last chance fell
to Ash Laskey who forced the keeper into a long range effort tipping
the shot onto the bar. The game ended as a 3-0 victory for Tivvy.

Kentisbeare 1 v 2
Tivvy Town
Tivvy won their fourth straight game against a well
organised Kentisbeare side who pushed Tivvy all the way in an
entertaining match. Tivvy struggled in the opening minutes a scrappy
start as both teams tried to gain a upper hand in the match. Ash
Laskey volleyed wide after being set up by Mitch Dart. Tivvy opened
the scoring Mitch Dart just inside the opponents half drilled his
free kick into the box and the ball kicked up off the slippy turf
and slipped through the keepers grasp for one nil to the yellows.
Kentisbeare pushed up the hill and Mitch Dart put in a fantastic
block as a shot was goal bound excellent defensive play from the
young Dart. Tivvy weathered some Kentisbeare pressure and grabbed a
second on the counter Ashley Laskey picking up the ball and
attacking the defence before jinking inside the box and firing low
into the bottom corner for a 2-0 halt time lead to Tivvy. The second
half was all about defending as Kentisbeare piled forward using the
slope to their advantage however Tiverton defended deep and well..
Every player getting behind the ball and keeping chances to minimum.
Zak hide cleared a free kick off the line and Jordan Mitchell nearly
made it 3-1 but couldn't quite angle his shot on a rare Tivvy break.
Harrison Burton produced an excellent full stretch around the post
when a Kentisbeare forward bared down on goal .With a minute left
Kentisbeare however finally broke the Tivvy defence a shot trickling
through the grasp of the Tivvy keeper. Although the full stretch
save minutes earlier won the game for Tivvy as they hung on for a
2-1 victory.

Tivvy Town 2 v 1
Cullompton Wolves
Tivvy ground out a second win even though they were
exhausted as a team at the finish they kept going and got a second
win of the day. Missing two players left the yellows with seven
players for both games and they produced a team effort to be proud
of. They opened the scoring against their opponents who were bigger
in stature than their Tivvy opponents when Kyle Gould fed a lovely
ball to Ashley Laskey to open the scoring. Kyle Gould gave another
superb midfield performance in both games and was winning all the
midfield balls and creating attacks for tiverton at every
opportunity. Gould had another low shot excellent parried for a
corner by the Wolves keeper. At the other end Tivvy keeper Burton
tipped a ferocious shot wide for a corner and handled several
through balls with excellent reading of the game. The Tivvy players
were tiring and the threat of their opponents was apparent. The
second half was a battle as Tivvy hung on and Cullompton grabbed an
equalizer when a through ball slipped through the grasp of the Tivvy
keeper and gave the Wolves striker a tap in for a equaliser. Tivvy
did not give up and hit the bar in a break away and with one big
effort left Kyle Gould was fed in by Ashley Laskey and he lashed a
low shot which hit the post bounced off the keeper and hit the
oncoming Ashley Laskey who bundled the ball home for Tivvy`s winner
with seconds left to end a rollercoaster of a game.

Tivvy Town 7 v 1
Cullompton Coyotes
Tiverton produced their best football season against
their neighbours having a bare bone squad didn't effect the young
yellows and they produced two excellent team displays. The opening
few minutes saw Tivvy boss their opponents and they took an
immediate lead inside two minutes when Mitch Dart crossed from the
wing for the oncoming Kyle Gould to slam home the opener for Tivvy.
The two forwards Mitch Dart and Ashley Laskey gave the Coyote
defence a torrid time throughout with attacking running with the
ball and creating space for openings with superb awareness. Zak hide
cracked home a second when the ball fell to him outside the box and
he powered in into the bottom corner for 2-0. A Mitch Dart through
ball played in striking partner Ashley Laskey for a neat finish for
3-0..Zak Hide had another Long distance shot parried over from the
coyotes keeper before Mitch Dart opened his account bundling in a
corner for a half time lead of 4-0.Tivvy started the second half in
the same manner using excellent touches and speed in their attacking
runs. They made it 5-0 when Mitch Dart found space wide and cut
inside unleashing a low shot in the bottom corner. Cullompton
grabbed a consolation goal when a free kick was conceded outside the
Tivvy box and the Coyote player curled the free kick into the top
corner past Keeper Harrison Burton who had little action in the
game. Tivvy shrugged off the goal and pressed forward again Ashley
Laskey scored his second as the ball fell to him in a close range
scramble. The Tivvy striker grabbed his second consecutive hat trick
in two games when he scored his third goal and Tivvy`s seventh.
Receiving the ball out wide he cut inside and outside the coyotes
defenders before firing past the keeper to complete an excellent
performance by the developing Tivvy under nines.

Pinhoe Gladiators 4 v 1
Tivvy U9's
Tivvy started the games without key playmaker Kyle
Gould who was unavailable. The young yellows struggled from the off
due to a very uphill slope of a pitch and an opposition who
controlled the game using their superior size and strength
especially in the midfield areas to out battle their opponents.
The game started scrappy as both teams started
battled to gain any possession however the Pinhoe Number 7 was a
threat throughout and flashed a long range effort just wide of the
far post. The scoring was opened when a cross was allowed across the
Tivvy box for a tap in at the far post to give Pinhoe a 1-0 nil
lead...It was 2-0 minutes later when a attacking run into the box
followed by a shot struck the bar and dropped for a pinhoe striker
to tap in for 2-0.Tivvy struggled up the hill however Ashley Laskey
struck the post in a rare attack up the hill from the yellows. Tivvy
were losing the midfield battle and Pinhoe were passing early
causing the tivvy defence a tough time.
Pinhoe made it 3-0 before half time another simple
ball across the ball resulting in a tap in from a harrison burton
parrie made it 3-0...But for some excellent handling and positioning
from Harrison Burton the score could have been higher...Tivvy
finished the half with Ash Laskey and Mitch Dart both on the
sidelines with cuts and bruises.
The second half was a marked improvement. Tivvy
keeping their opponents away from the danger zone however one minute
in the ball fell to the Pinhoe number 7 who launched a shot from
inside his own half which flew over Harrison Burton and into the top
corner a great goal by any standards!!! The game was over but Tivvy
kept working and pushing Mitch dart creating some clever link play
with Ashley Laskey and using the wings to good effect. The final
ball just letting the yellows down. They got a goal they deserved
when a corner in was headed out to Zak Hide and he volleyed into the
bottom corner...Tivvy pushed again Ashley Laskey volleying into the
net from wide on the touchline but the ref ruling that the ball had
just crossed the line...Harsh decision on what was a great
effort...The game filtered out and Tivvy learnt lessons on a slow
start and not marking tightly during the first half.

Pinhoe Spartans 3 v 4
Tivvy U9's
Value for money this game had everything goals,
action and a never give up attitude from both teams...Tivvy got off
to the worst start not learning from the last games mistakes. A ball
into the box and a tap in at the far post for one nil to the
spartans. MInutes later a shot hitting the post and falling for
another tap in for 2-0..Scratching of heads from the coaching staff
followed...Tivvy urged on by their fans and coaching team grabbed
themselves back into the game when a lovely cross from Mitch dart
found Ash Laskey at the far post who slammed home to make it
2-1..Dangerous dart volleyed a rebound narrowly wide and Tivvy
looked like the team that we have come to expect!! One of the goals
of the season then came when Mitch Dart hugged the touchline and
with a quick shift of feet beat one man then cut inside another
before chipping the Pinhoe keeper from an acute angle a great goal
and 2-2 at the break...
The second half started and Tivvy let Pinhoe back in
the lead again when a shot cannoned off Tivvys latest recruit and
defender George and into the net...Unlucky and nothing that could be
done. A great couple of performances from George on his debut
however and a promising future ahead beckons..
Tivvy had to claw back into the game again. Ash
Laskey firing just over and just wide from two surging runs into the
box. Zak hide seeing a half way line shot scrambled around the post
by the spartans keeper. The goal was coming and did when another
lovely cross by dart on the left wing was half volleyed in by Ashley
Laskey for his second and the scores leveller with two minutes left!
Urged on Tivvy kept going and won the game with seconds remaining
when a shot was parried by the keeper in a goalmouth scramble and
Ash Laskey finished for his hat trick and a last second winner for
Tivvy!!. The two forwards Dart and Laskey were excellent throughout
and the Man of the match award was tough to choose between them
both!!
An edge of the seat game Tivvy never gave up and
showed great spirit and a deserved win!!!

Broadclyst 0 v 7
Tivvy U9's
A much improved performance from Tivvy right from
the off of this game often playing some of their best passing and
movement football this year...Every player was well motivated for
the game and had shaken off their earlier disappointment to make
amends in this game.
Ashley Laskey gave a excellent hardworking
performance giving Broadclyst problems with his powerful surging
runs and determination. Tivvy opened the scoring when a Laskey run
caused the defence to bring him down on the edge of the box Laskey
stepped up to smash the ball into the corner from the resulting free
kick with some power. Ashley Laskey grabbed his second soon after
when the ball broke to him in the box and he prodded home from close
range for his second and Tivvy s second.
Connor Roberts lifted the ball onto the blues
crossbar after a scramble in the goalmouth. Mitch Dart dragging a
shot just wide of the far post and a lovely three touch move between
three players resulted again in the Dangerous Dart firing just over.
The move was a joy to watch and got applause from the visiting fans
and coaches alike. The Broadclyst keeper saving from Connor Roberts
close range shot and denying Ashley Laskey his hat trick with a
brave block. Kyle Gould got his first of the game with a smart turn
and shot and Mitch Dart got the goal he deserved when a firmly
struck shot spilled out of the keepers hands for a half time lead of
4-0 to the yellows. Clarke Davidson replaced Connor Roberts for the
start of the second half and he carried on his excellent performance
by charging into the box to prod against the bar from a scrambled
corner. However he didn't miss seconds later when the ball was
played across the box and Davidson smashed the ball into the roof of
the net. A lovely one two between Kyle Gould and Clarke Davidson
sent Kyle Gould in for his second and Tivvy`s Six of the game and
the rout was completed when Kyle Gould latched onto a loose ball to
smash into the corner for his hat trick and the top goal scorers
mantle leading into the Christmas break...Great performance lads.

Brixington Blues 2 v 1
Tivvy U9's
Tivvy gave possibly their worst display of the
season on a freezing cold morning which didn't help either sides but
their opponents coped with the conditions the better. The game was
scrappy for the first 5 minutes neither side being able to get the
ball down and play. Brixington opened the scoring with their first
real attack forward a long ball catching Connor Roberts a bit flat
footed the ball catching his hand as he jumped to head the ball
away. The resulting free kick on the edge of the box flew into the
net with goalkeeper Harrison Burton helpless although the young
yellows were not alert to the cry's of keeper Burton who was
demanding a wall in front of the kicker. Lesson learnt boys...
Tivvy huffed and puffed in the cold Kyle Gould close
range shot well held by the blues keeper and a cross field shot
begging for a touch at the back post also went astray for Tivvy.
Harrison Burton again kept a fine game in goal and blocked a one on
one effort to keep Tivvy in the game at the break.
The second half started strongly as Tivvy went at
Brixington getting back in the game and then allowing the visitors
to nick the win. Mitch Dart chased a long through ball from Clarke
Davidson and harrassed the centre back who ended up smashing the
ball into his own goal for 1-1...
Mitch Dart and Kyle Gould again flashed efforts just
over and across the box. Clarke Davidson got his first start of the
season and worked exceptionally hard in the midfield tracking up and
down and laying the passes off to set up Tivvy attacks and really
deserved the man of the match award for a hardworking
performance...Well done Clarke!
Tivvy got caught with a few minutes left when a
quick throw caught the defence to far up the pitch and the Blues
forward powered into the box and slotted home. Tivvy again got
caught to far up the pitch on another couple of occasions and were
thankful to Harrison Burton to keep the score down...A two one
defeat but not a great performance overall.

Thorverton 3 v 1
Tivvy U9's
Thorverton went into the game as the team topping
the league and looked every inch the team in that position during
the first half. Ryan Doble replaced Connor Roberts for the start of
the game as Tivvy opted for a more defensive set up. However after
ten seconds of the game the ball bounced kindly just inside the
Tivvy half and was volleyed into the top corner of the net by the
Thorverton midfielder a fantastic strike and possibly one of the
goals of the season. Tivvy were rattled Zak Hide came off suffering
with the effects of a heavy cough throughout both games and Connor
Roberts replaced him in the back with Jordan Mitchell...Tivvy worked
hard to get a foot hold in the game and a surging run from Kyle
Gould the ball breaking to the oncoming Mitchell Dart who was
backing up superbly he took a touch and calmly slotted the ball
under the Thorverton keeper.
The game turned a little scrappy with neither team
getting hold of the game, Thorverton then came to life again and a
quick break down the line and a cutting ball across the Tivvy box
found a Thorverton player at the back post who took a touch and
drilled the ball low and hard for 2-1 to the league leaders. Tivvy
were rattled and began to lose their shape at the back and seconds
later a Thorverton attack down the wing and a casual cross into the
Tivvy box crept all the way through and found the bottom corner to
make it 3-1 as half time came at the right time for Tivvy to re
group.
The second half started and the performance from the
yellows was first class they worked hard limiting Thorverton to
little more than half chances the second half was void of chances
for both sides. However Tivvy hassled every loose ball and dominated
possession at times even though they found the thorverton back line
tough to break down the way they took the game to Thorverton and
didn't let their heads drop was superb and won some very
complimentary comments from the Thorverton management team and
supporters alike.
Ryan Doble emerged as man of the match for a
consistent defensive performance throughout the game keeping to the
basics and fast improvement week by week in this position.

Exwick Youth 1 v 0
Tivvy U9's
A hard lesson learnt for the young yellows in a
match they dominated from the first whistle creating plenty of
chances throughout the game. The game started strongly with the
Tivvy midfield of Kyle Gould and Connor Roberts using their pace and
strength respectively to get control of the ball and Jordan Mitchell
constantly creating problems by surging runs down the wing...
Mitchell dart and Kyle Gould flashed shots across
the face of the Exwick Goal as Tivvy penned their opponents in their
own half for most of the first half. Exwick broke on a couple of
occasions but safe handling from Harrison Burton and one flying tip
around the post kept the goal intact. Mitchell dart struck a post as
the half came to an end with Tivvy well on top...
The second half started again with Tivvy pressing
Connor Roberts again controlling the middle of the pitch by using
excellent heading abilities to clear any Exwick Long balls into his
attacking third of the field. Tenacious tackling by Jordan Mitchell
kept the back line tight and Zak Hide pushing himself with his usual
consistency and high tempo defending gave little away.
Ashley Laskey caused problems with a couple of
surging runs one which saw a shot hit the Exwick crossbar and teeing
up a another Tivvy shot on goal which ended with the post being
struck again for the third time in the game!!!
However with four minutes to go a long ball caught
Tivvy stretched a little and the Exwick forward laid off a ball
across the box for an oncoming player to control cut inside a
despairing Tivvy tackle and slam the ball into the Tivvy net for the
goal which won the game. Tivvy kept pushing hard throwing players
forward and nearly got caught on two to three occasions over pushing
but poor passes or excellent handling and blocking from Harrison
Burton kept the score down....Lesson learnt got to take your
chances...A cracking game and effort never the less!!

Tivvy U9's 3 v 1 Crediton Saints B
Tivvy started the game by attacking at Crediton
Saints B with excellent dribbling and pace and could have had more
goals than three if they had taken a little more composure in front
of goal. This game was a great team effort but one player graced the
game. Kyle Gould showed great ability and skill that earned him a
hat trick and the man of the match award!!..Watch out Glenn!!
Kyle grabbed his first goal tucking away a through
ball into the bottom corner after five minutes and followed it up by
grabbing his second minutes later from a corner which was headed
upwards by a saints defender and volleyed over his head by Gould
with the ball lopping up into the top corner of the Crediton net
with the goalkeeper flat footed. Tivvy had several other chances
during the half Ash Laskey blasting inches wide when clean through
and then blasting over the bar when the ball fell to him in a
goalmouth scramble. Tivvy should have been out of sight at half
time.
The second half started with keeper Burton bit of a
spectator in the game. Chances came and went again in the second
half Mitchell Dart playing a cross shot across the box and just
firing over the bar from an acute angle. Tivvy grabbed a third when
a corner found Kyle Gould unmarked and he slammed home a volley and
his hat trick. The game was over as a contest however Crediton
grabbed a consolation when the forward evaded the defence challenges
to slide the ball underneath the Burton but Tivvy recovered held

Tivvy U9's 0 v 1 Crediton Saints A
Tivvy can hold their heads high after a excellent
performance against one of the fancied sides in their league this
season. Tivvy held Crediton up until the last quarter of the game
thanks to a excellent work ethic and some outstanding goalkeeping by
Harrison Burton in the Tiverton goal. Mitchell Dart struck the
Crediton post early on in the game and Tivvy forced three corners in
the opening minutes...Dangerous Dart shot just over the bar from a
mazy run at the Crediton defence as the 1st half drew to a blank.
The 1st half belonged though to the Tivvy keeper who
denied the Crediton forwards with one outstanding save with his face
when clean through on the Tivvy goal and backed this up with a full
stretch diving save which he turned around and several full stretch
dives which showed his exemplary handling skills by holding onto the
ball under pressure. The half ended with a Crediton player bearing
down on the yellows goal but an excellent tackle form Zak Hide saved
the day...
The second half started with Crediton taking the
game to Tivvy and gaining slightly more possession of the ball
however the midfield of Connor Roberts and Kyle Gould were standing
firm against the pressure. Connor Roberts showing excellent heading
ability on several occasions to clear the danger from the Tivvy
danger areas.Harrison Burton again made a tip around save from a
strike from a saints attacker and the best save was still to come
diving down at his front post to parry and then show excellent
skills to get back up and make a double save with his legs sending
the ball off to a corner. From the corner Crediton nicked the winner
and the game as a deft flick from the Crediton player found the
bottom corner of the Tivvy goal even though Harrison Burton still
got hands to the effort. A good effort against very respected
opposition.

Central United 1 v 2
Tivvy U9's
Tivvy travelled to Exeter for two league games
against Central FC and came away with maximum points and two
excellent wins against the Exeter outfit.
The game started strongly for the yellows
gaining lots of early ball possession on a big pitch and used
this to their advantage. Ashley Laskey, Kyle Gould and Mitch
Dart all using their fast pace early on causing a string of
early corners for Tivvy. Mitch Dart and Ashley Laskey both
forced the home keeper into saves and Kyle Gould shot just wide
of the far post from another excellent break. The midfield
battles were won by Tivvy Connor Roberts holding the middle
allowing the Central FC players very little chances to get
through and the odd occasion they did break through Zak Hide and
Jordan Mitchell were superb throughout standing strong giving
Harrison Burton in the Tivvy goal a relatively quiet game. Tivvy
took the lead when the ball fell to Zak Hide just inside the
central half who hit the ball first time over the Central keeper
and into the top of the net a fantastic strike from some
distance. The yellows took a two goal advantage from another
break in the first half Ashley Laskey dragging the play wide
cutting inside and unleashing another ferocious strike which the
keeper did well to palm upwards but the shot had too much power
and looped over the keeper and dropped into the net for two nil
to the yellows.
The second half passed by with Tivvy in control
gaining causing the defence of Central problems winning a couple
of corners and numerous goalmouth scrambles Connor Roberts going
close on three occasions laying the ball wide and picking up the
cross return by Mitch Dart but the ball on each occasion just
wouldn't settle for a clear Tivvy opening. Central did create a
chance or two Harrison Burton diving at full stretch to turn
around a fierce drive and smothering two or three threaded
passes through the yellows back line. Central United did grab a
consolation goal through a scramble in the box near the end of
the match but Tivvy defended excellent throughout taking their
hard work and effort from defensive training into the match
situation. An excellent performance by Connor Roberts won him
the man of the match award for hard work throughout,
offloading the pass early and determination during the
game being key aspects of the decision.

Central City 0 v 2
Tivvy U9's
The yellows followed up their first win with
another against another Central side Central City who looked a
far bigger and stronger looking team than their opponents
however the yellows showed excellent strength and determination
to see the game out in a two nil victory. The first half passed
with the game very tight to call the Tivvy defence were kept on
their toes by some strong wing play from Central but time and
time again Jordan Mitchell was outstanding in the challenge
standing up and letting nothing pass and attacking the wing
whenever the chances arose excellent play through the entire two
games. Ashley Laskey fired a shot which was blocked by the
goalkeepers legs along with a cross shot by Kyle Gould which
flashed across the goalmouth. Connor Roberts carrying on from
the last game forcing a corner after a strong run into the box
and having his shot from the resulting corner blocked by one
central defender and then again by another. The half ended with
both sides as equal and a entertaining second half to come...
Tivvy battled hard in the second half and pushed
hard for a goal. They kept Central to very rare chances the
goals coming in the mid of the second half a low shot caused the
Central keeper to spill the ball and Mitch Dart like all good
strikers pouncing on the loose ball slamming home the ball for
one nil to Tivvy. The yellows grew in confidence and
went at Central City forcing great positions in the home teams
box but the ball not quite running for a second goal. That goal
eventually did come in the last two minutes when Connor Roberts
laid a through ball to the ever dangerous Mitch Dart who cut
inside the Central full back and slammed the ball into the goal
net for two nil and another improving performance for the

Gould then shot over the bar after creating an opening in the
West Exe defence with some footwork. Mitchell Dart came close
when in space inside the west exe box but couldn't quite convert
the pass into the net. The early spell came to an end when the
Tiverton defence were caught out by a through ball which slipped
through to send the West Exe forward clear who finished into the
bottom corner. Tivvy kept pressing forward and were undone again
near the end of the first half when a shot from the edge of the
box slipped through the grasp of keeper Harrison Burton who
during both games gave a inspirational display of goalkeeping
and justified his man of the match award.
Tivvy kept going forward in the second half but
west exe marshalled their defence brilliantly in the second half
and gave little away to the young yellows. West exe broke a
couple of times as Tivvy searched for a goal back into the game.
Harrison Burton denying west exe with some alert handling on
through balls and crossing and produced one wonder save diving
to the top right hand corner to tip the ball onto the bar. West
Exe broke through with two minutes to go and slipped the ball
into the corner to wrap up the victory as Tiverton pushed up to
grab a goal back.

Alphington 4 v 2
Tivvy U9's
The second game of the day ended in second
defeat for Tivvy but a much improved performance in a game they
were unfortunate not to grab a draw from after fighting
back twice to level. The young alphas started strongly with a
couple of strong midfielders who bossed the early stages over
their smaller opponents. Alphington took the lead from pulled
back ball into the box that was neatly finished for 1-0.Tivvy
then got the wake up call and Ashley Laskey started to torment
the back line of Alphington with his pace trickery and quick
feet. Alphington stuck the post with a cross shot as
Tivvy attempted to find an opening Mitchell Dart was unfortunate
when in space the slippery pitch taking the ball away. Tivvy
found an equaliser near the end of the half as Ashley Laskey
found space and rifled a shot which the Alphington keeper could
only get a hand to and it flew into the roof of the net.
Harrison Burton then produced a save which brought huge
applause from the crowd, low down tipping a veracious shot
around the post had to be one of the saves of the season in the
friendly league this year. Alphington scored early at the start
of the second half Harrison Burton got down low and made another
good one handed save but the ball fell to the Alphington striker
for a tap in for two one. Ashley Laskey then created space and
rifled in a fantastic shot into the top right hand corner from
an angle that could have been up for goal of the season for the
young yellows. Alphington kept pushing and their superior
strength paid when another save by Harrison Burton again fell to
the feet of a ongoing player to make it 3-2 to Alphington. The
game was wrapped up near the end with a excellent header from a
in swinging corner. Harrison Burton kept denying Alphington in
the last five minutes tipping another two efforts away from
goal, one onto the bar and blocking a one on one. An excellent
goalkeeping performance.

Sidmouth Town B 3 v 2
Tivvy U9's
Tivvy lost the first match against Sidmouth
Vikings 3-2 however the score line did flatter the home side who
were fortunate not to be on the losing end of the score line due
to a host of chances by the young yellows which went begging.
Sidmouth took a early lead in the first half a long kick
downfield allowed the Sidmouth forward to outpace the Tiverton
defence thanks to the heavy slope of the pitch and finish
comfortably in the corner...a further Sidmouth goal came five
minutes later against the run of the game as Tivvy started to
dominate possession. this second goal spurned Tivvy on and they
produced some outstanding football to get a foothold back into
the match. Sidmouth broke again for the third before the break
but the young yellows were the superior side in effort but not
results...the woodwork denied Tivvy on two other attacking
occasions backed up with strong pacy attacking runs by both
Ashley Laskey and Mitchell Dart created several chances causing
the Sidmouth keeper to be very alert indeed to deny both the
above in shooting opportunities.
In the second half Kyle Gould replaced Connor
Roberts in the middle of the park and the results were visible
immediately due to Tivvy having the sloping pitch in their
favour the yellows went all out attack keeping Sidmouth to one
break during the entire second half which was comfortably
gathered by captain Harrison Burton who kept the goal solid
throughout both games. The goal finally came when Kyle Gould
prodded home following a goalmouth scramble the crossbar denied
Ashley Laskey following a pile driver of a strike as well as
some desperate goalmouth defending by Sidmouth and a
superb point blank save by the Sidmouth keeper to deny Tiverton
a second goal. Eventually the second goal did come when Ashley
Laskey finished from a set piece free kick curling around the
keeper to set up a big finish...Tivvy attacked with everything
they had and the shots flashed inches wide from Ashley Laskey,
Kyle Gould and Mitchell Dart eventually time ran out on the
young yellows but not without a fantastic first league effort
spurred on by family and friends they can be very proud indeed
of their first team outing.

Sidmouth Town A 1 v 4
Tivvy U9's
Tivvy went out with the same desire as they
ended the first game keeping with the same team that finished
the last game they went straight at Sidmouth Vikings A and
attacked them with pace, skill and lots of passion game came to
live after five minutes of the first half when Ashley Laskey
whipped a free kick over the Sidmouth wall and struck the
crossbar from then onwards the young yellows drove forward up
the slope and got rewards on two occasions goals from Mitchell
Dart and Kyle Gould gave them a two one half time advantage the
Sidmouth goal coming at the end of the half by a breakaway move
but the Tivvy defenders of Ryan Doble and Jordan Mitchell gave
little away in both games and played solidly throughout
excellent support play by Zack Hide made their jobs in defence a
lot easier and he marshalled the team throughout. the second
half progressed and Tivvy wrapped up the game with a further
goal from man of the match Kyle Gould and the hard working
Ashley Laskey who worked an opening inside the Sidmouth half and
nearly burst the net with a strike into the roof of the net with
minutes remaining to give Tivvy the win which they deserved due
to the hard work effort they produced throughout both games...
